On April 25, 2018 the Bulgarian Customs Agency and ARSIS Consulting continued its series of joint training sessions for detection of counterfeit goods for the officers of the Customs Agency operating under Regulation 608/2013 concerning customs enforcement of intellectual property rights.

The second training session of the 2018 IP roadshow on anti-counterfeiting took place in Plovdiv and was attended by 21 customs officers from Kapitan Andreevo border point and Plovdiv Customs offices. Kapitan Andreevo border point is one of the most important customs bureaus in the country since it operates at the outer land border of the EU and handles both intense industrial and passenger traffic.

In the course of the training session ARSIS Consulting team members delivered product ID presentations on a number of brands for which ARSIS acts as a local point of contact under Regulation 608/2013. The attending officers also had the opportunity to examine samples of counterfeit products and were able to test their skills by detecting incorrect labeling and logo misrepresentation on the educational samples.

The 2018 anti-counterfeiting roadshow continues with training sessions for the regional customs offices in Burgas and Varna later this year.
