3P FOR IP CONFERENCE IN BULGARIA WILL BUILD A BRIDGE BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR FOR BETTER ENFORCEMENT AGAINST IPR VIOLATIONS31.05.2018
The conference „3Р for IP: Public Private Partnership in Favour of IPR Enforcement” is organized by the Bulgarian Association for Protection of the Legal Distribution of Programs – TeRaPro together with its partnering associations the Bulgarian IDLO Alumni Association, DD Research and Public Relations Agency and ARSIS Consulting Intellectual Property Law Firm with the financial support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
The event will be attended by 70 key participants from the Bulgarian public authorities and the business, local and international NGOs, as well as representatives of the public and private sector from Romania, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Serbia, FYR Macedonia and UNMIK. High level Executive, Legislative, Judicial representatives will participate in the Conference.
The Conference will take place on June 12th, 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event coincides with the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and is expected to attract significant international attention and repercussion on the topics included in its agenda.
The main goal of the Conference is to create an opportunity for launching a steady public-private partnership between the government authorities and the stakeholders and their associations for better enforcement against IPR violations. The program of the Conference will consist of four panels as follows:
1. Distant monitoring as an efficient enforcement tool against TV piracy
2. Industry led market survey as an efficient tool against underreporting
3. Legislative deficits in intellectual property enforcement
4. Cooperation between the Customs authorities and the stakeholders in preventing the distribution of pirate and counterfeit products in the Balkans
