On April 28, 2017 the Bulgarian Customs Agency and ARSIS Consulting continued its series of joint training sessions for detection of counterfeit goods for the officers of the Customs Agency operating under Regulation 608/2013 concerning customs enforcement of intellectual property rights.

The second training session of the IP roadshow on anti-counterfeiting took place in Plovdiv and was attended by 19 customs officers from Kapitan Andreevo border point and Plovdiv Customs offices. Product ID presentations on adidas, Reebok, Nike, Converse, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Crocs, Salvatore Ferragamo, Microsoft, Durex, Scholl and Rubik were delivered by long term experts of ARSIS Consulting. A brand protection presentation was also delivered by Mr. Stefan Topalov from Syngenta Bulgaria who informed the participants on the peculiarities of counteracting counterfeit and illegal plant protection products.

The participants were active discussing various best practices on border seizures and enhancing the cooperation with brand owners and their representatives in order to successfully reduce the influx of counterfeit goods into the EU market.

The 2017 anti-counterfeiting roadshow continues with training sessions for the regional customs offices in Burgas and Ruse later this year.
