Bulgarian police seize counterfeits at the Black sea tourist area

The Bulgarian police assisted by ARSIS team members raided in May four shops selling counterfeit sport apparel in cities at the Black sea coast in Bulgaria. Two of the shops were located in Sunny beach summer resort near popular hotels visited by many foreign tourists while the shops in Varna were located at the central shopping area. The shops were discovered following a market research by ARSIS investigative team who alerted the police about the retailers. The counterfeits were immediately seized by the police.

Under Art. 172b of the Bulgarian Penal Code counterfeiting is a criminal offence which may result in imprisonment of up to 5 years and a fine of up to BGN 5000.
